TIRUPATI TEMPLES AROUND

Tirupati is one of the most happening places in India.  There are lot of things to do and places to visit in and around Tirupati.

 
 

Tirupati: 
Tirupati is at the foot of the 7 hills.  Tirupati is the gateway to Tirumala - the abode of Lord Venkateswara, also known as Balaji.  The town of Tirupati is one of the most ancient and sacred pilgrimage spots in India. The name 'Tirupati' means the "Lord of Lakshmi," and should have been applied to the village on the Venkat hill, the dwelling of Lord Venkateswara.   However, Tirupati is the town and transport hub at the bottom of the hill. The hill near the temple is called 'Tirumala' or the "sacred hill."   The temple here is said to be the busiest in the world, eclipsing even Rome, Jerusalem and Mecca in the number of pilgrims visiting it. 

 
 

Tirupati is rich of famous temples like Sri Govindaraja swamy temple (brother of lord venkateswara), Sri Rama, Kapileswara swamy.  It also has recreational places like the science center and zoo park.

 
 

Tirumala:   Tirupati is famous world wide as the abode of Lord Venkateshwara popularly known as Tirupati Balaji an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.  One of the most sacred pilgrimage Hindu site, the town is visited by hundreds and thousands of devotees from all over the world every year.  The presiding deity Vishnu is enshrined in this temple, located on a range of the Eastern Ghats, called the Seven Hills representing the seven hoods of Adisesha, thus earning the name Seshachalam. The seven peaks are called Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri and Venkatadri.

Akasa ganga and papavinasanam are some of the sacred waterfalls on the hills.

 
 

Srinivasa Mangapuram:  It is ~10km from Tirupati on the way to Talakona. It is believed that God came here before going to Tirumala. "The Kalyan Venkateswara is a replica of the main deity of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala". Piligrims will have the privelage of having darshan quickly and much closer to the deity.

 
 

Alamelu Mangapuram (Tiruchanur): Being in a temple town at the foothills of the world famous Srinivasa shrine at Tirumala, one is bound to visit such temples as the Alamelumanga (Lakshmi) temple at Tiruchanur, four km from Tirupati. The temple to the consort of Lord Venkateswara is here and people visiting the Tirumala hills make it a point to visit Alamelumanga too. The town lies on the bank of the River Swarnamukhi.

 
 

Sri Kalahasthi: Sri kalahasthi considered as one of the panchabootha stalams (temples celebrating Lord Siva as the embodiment of the primary elements).  Sri Kalahasthi Temple is in fact considered as the Kailash of the south or Dakshin Kailash.  Srikalahasthi is around 40 kms from Tirupati.  This place is famous for the Rahu Kethu Sarva Dosha Nivarna Pooja.

 
 

Kanipakam : This temple came into prominence only in the past 10-15 years. Prior to this it was popular only in and around Chittoor district. The prominence could be attributed to the fact that AP Government gave lot of importance to tourism in the recent years. Also this became a place to visit for the pilgrims coming to Tirupati as they started plying buses from Tirupati to all the local temples



Ardhagiri Anjaneya temple: Located in Argonda( Meaning Half hill ) village , Tavanam Palli Mandal of Chittor District this temple has Veeranjaneya Swami as presiding deity. Lord Hanuman is here believed to bless devotees with long life, health and prosperity.

Golden Temple (Swarna devalayam):  Mahalakshmi temple called 'Sripuram' was made by more than a tonne of pure gold will glitter and gleam under the sun on August 24 when it is unveiled for consecration by the Sri Narayani Peetam headed by a 31-year-old godman who calls himself Narayani Amma. Devotees hail the temple as 'one of the wonders of the world' and say that it is the only temple covered fully with gold.

More than 400 gold and coppersmiths from the Thirupati Thirumala Devasthanam are said to have worked for six years to craft the Rs 600-crore gold temple located on 55,000 sq ft of land on a 100-acre salubrious stretch in Malaikodi (also called as malaikottai), about 6 km from Vellore in north Tamil Nadu. According to official sources, the gold bars were purchased through RBI in "a transparent manner."

Horsley Hills : Horsley Hills, elevation 1,265 m, is a famous summer hill resort in Andhra Pradesh, about 160 km from Bangalore, India and 144 km from Tirupati. The town of Madanapalle lies nearby. Major tourist attractions include the Mallamma temple and the Rishi valley school. Horsely Hills is the departure point for the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary at a distance of 87 km.


Tala kona : Talakona a water falls in sri venteshwara park in Andrapradesh.. Is also a shooting spots for movies.. The waterfalls is admist beauty with herbally rich and its falls from and height of 200 feet about 60 meters and there are water fall above this falls for this one can take several routes including long treck route at the begining of the park ,this waterfalls leads to tremendous nature beauty of no man land & big pool of water and it deep water but extremly pure and water fall plunges into this pool and there is even another water fall beyond this fall which is much bigger and dangerous trecking route
